THE CLIENT
Accru is an award-winning network of independently-owned accounting firms in Australia.
MY ROLE
I led the design of this project and worked closely with the client and the development team at Cyberdesign Works, as the app started to be built until the official launch.
THE CHALLENGE
I workshopped ideas and concepts with the team for the creation of an intuitive, and “set and forget” automated trip tracking log book.
The challenge was to simplify the process of maintaining a vehicle log book, without frightening less technical users.
Adopting a staged rollout approach, initial re-launch of the app focussed on creation of a new interface and improvements to the manual log book functionality with secondary phases introducing the new automated tracking experience.
THE PROCESS
Commencing with stakeholder workshops, we identified the weaknesses with the  existing design and trip logging process, whilst undertaking competitive analysis and brand review.
Based on an initial wireframe depicting the new user flow and navigation structure, a detailed, interactive prototype  was produced, allowing the Client to get a feel for the new user experience, and enabled the less technically inclined corporate stakeholders to understand and appreciate the user journey.
Extensive consultation was undertaken with both the client and development team to ensure feasibility of all prototyped features and functions, before being finally deployed for extensive testing via TestFlight, prior to launch.
THE IMPACT
The App was successfully launched in December 2016. And the Android version was released shortly thereafter. The app is now among the most downloaded tax app in Australia.
Download the iOS App from the App Store and Android from Google Play.
